David F. Powers, a partner with Edward Jones, is responsible for the Product Review department, which reviews new investment products offered to investors and monitors investments already held by Edward Jones clients. He also is a member of the Edward Jones Investment Policy Committee.
Powers began his career with Edward Jones in 1989 as an intern. After earning his bachelor’s degree, he joined the firm full time in 1991 and became a member of the Research department in 1993.
He was named a principal in 1999.
In December 2005, after working several years as an analyst, Powers was asked to lead the Equity Research department and assume responsibility for the firm’s Stock Focus List, which he led to top rankings in Barron’s stock picking survey. In 2009, he helped launch the firm’s Fixed Income Research area.
Powers assumed his current responsibilities in 2014.
Powers earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri - Columbia and an MBA from St. Louis University. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1995. Powers is a member of the CFA Institute and is a past president of the CFA Society of St. Louis.
