When most people play chess, they sacrifice a pawn to save the queen. I'm more pragmatic. I sacrifice the king to save the afternoon.
What's the big picture?
The big picture is that I focus on returns and risk, and how that effects you, the individual investor.
The obvious part of my job is investments. I love looking for appropriate opportunities for my clients based on their needs and goals. The other part is understanding tolerance for risk, which includes the rest of the decisions I help my clients with, like what type of account to use, where to take withdrawals from, when we should rebalance investments, etc. All of these decisions effect return and risk. Every decision is important.
I have lots of fun doing this.
I started with Edward Jones when I was 6 years old, as I am a third generation Edward Jones financial advisor. I grew up learning about investing, the markets and trading stocks. Shoot, even my favorite part of Halloween was 'trading' my candy with my siblings! Nowadays, I'm helping my own clients with their most important financial goals and decisions.
At home, my wife, Bridget, and I have four kids. They range in age from a teenager down to a baby. She homeschools them and believe me, she has the full-time job! If there's any free time left, I like to study the deeper meanings in the Bible (what did you expect from a nerdy financial guy.... rock climbing?!).
My branch office administrator, Brenda, has been with Edward Jones since 2006. She moved here with her husband, Bruce, from southern Colorado. She is a limited partner in the firm and we work together to make every client experience positive. Please don't hesitate to call on her for help with scheduling, depositing checks, processing documents or other general service needs!
