In my early years as a business professional, I treated saving for retirement a little like throwing darts at a board – if my employer had a retirement plan I could contribute to, I'd participate and make sure I received the employer's match (if there was one). I assumed that as long as I did that, I'd have enough saved when I was ready to retire.

In 2016, when I first came to work for Edward Jones as a branch office administrator, my husband and I sat down with our advisor to review our plan for retirement. We were surprised to see that we weren't going to have the retirement we dreamed of at the rate we were saving. The good news is we learned what adjustments we could make to change the trajectory of our future. It was both eye-opening and exciting to find out we could have a real picture of our future and that someone truly cared enough about what was most important to us to make sure our goal could become a reality in the future.

It was this experience that inspired me to become a financial advisor myself. I want to help the people in my community make their financial goals attainable, whatever they may be.

I earned my bachelor's degree in business administration from Northwest Nazarene University. I have over 20 years of experience in a variety of business settings – start up companies and large corporations, publicly held companies and non-profit organizations.

Together my husband, Dave, and I have four boys: Elijah, Noah, Trent and Dayton. We enjoy the outdoors, so Colville and the surrounding area suits our family well. We enjoy camping, hiking, mountain-biking, kayaking and snowshoeing.

My branch office administrator, Tal Kays, came to work for Edward Jones in September of 2018. Prior to joining our team, she worked alongside her husband in youth ministry for over 20 years. She has three children who have reached the age of adulthood. She enjoys spending time with family, playing on the lake, photography and camping.
