When I first joined Edward Jones in 2002, I did it because I was confident that I could make a real difference in my community. Growing up, my father and grandfather were constantly showing me the importance of giving back through their service in organizations like the Rotary and Rescue Squad, and I knew that someday, I wanted to make that same impact in my own community. Building my own business with Edward Jones would give me the opportunity to combine my passions of helping others, being involved in my community and controlling my own success.
Now, after more than 20 years with Edward Jones, I’m proud to say that I spend every day doing what I love: helping others. Finances are bewildering and intimidating for so many people, which is why I’m committed to taking as much time as my clients need explaining financial strategies, terms and concepts. The first step toward a lifetime relationship with a new client begins by asking them to share not just their story, but their hopes and concerns as well. I then go to work applying their goals, values, risk tolerance and other factors into a highly personalized financial strategy. From that very first meeting, it’s my goal to establish transparency and earn the trust we’ll need later as we monitor progress and adjust our strategy to help make sure that we’re on track to reach their goals.
Whether we’re working with busy professionals, business owners, families with complex financial needs or organizations, our entire team strives to provide an incredible client experience. Our branch office team, including Sr. Branch Office Administrator Melissa Baumgardner and Branch Office Administrators Audrey Smith, Dena Jaques and Johanna Lanier, work together to ensure that our clients feel like friends and family, whether they live around the corner or across the country. We’re also happy to communicate with your existing financial professionals or bring new members onto your financial team to provide a comprehensive, holistic experience for our client family.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Shelley, and our three children: Kate, Grace and Connor. When we aren’t on the boat together, you can often find me working alongside the Kiwanis Club of Winchester or Catch and Unleash, a nonprofit I co-founded that serves the homeless.
