I have a bachelor's degree in finance and an associate's in applied science in real estate. After college, I worked as a statistical insurance analyst and worked my way up to a senior pricing analyst for a major international insurance company. I worked in that industry for eight years, decided to have a family and went into teaching for many years, mostly in a private school setting teaching business electives. When my family moved to Texas from Michigan, I eagerly joined Edward Jones.
My community involvement spans over the last 20 years. I served as the charity director for the Northshore Women's Association for five years and with that role, I worked with local charities, such as The Salvation Army and La Casa, which is a women's shelter for battered and abused women. I also co-chaired my children's school auctions to help raise funds for uniforms and after school programs. More recently, I was a board member for two years at Deborah's House, which is a church ministry for homeless alcohol and drug abused women who need shelter, job and life training skills after completing their rehabilitation program. I chaired a golf outing for this charity, which was one of their top fundraising events.
What inspires me about the work I do is seeing my clients successfully reach their financial goals. I enjoy helping others, and even though I enjoyed my previous careers, I always felt something was missing. When I became a financial advisor with Edward Jones, I knew that this was my passion and ultimate career choice.
The type of clients I best serve are from all different backgrounds, but one thing my clients share is knowing that I put their needs first, and I communicate with them regularly about their investments. My clients get a first-class experience from my branch team. I achieve this by listening carefully and responding to their needs and concerns in a timely manner, and by working diligently for them to help them achieve their goals.
