Phil Ridling

Raised in the Salem area, my family moved to Alaska in the late 1970’s and lived there for ten years. I met my wife (Karla) while attending college here in Oregon; my sister introduced me to my future wife. Karla and I married in March of 1992. In the spring of 2013, my family moved to Silverton, Oregon becoming the 4th generation of our family to live in the homestead built in the early 1900’s. Even though my family moved, we stay involved in the Salem area community.

My wife and I are thrilled to be part of the Salem community. We have two children who grew up in South Salem. Both now grown, they were very active in the sports community including; showing horses, baseball, wrestling, cross country and track.

I still participate in Sprague High School Wrestling program and Corbin University Wrestling program, along with an Elderly Advocate Group, Alzheimer’s Association and Salem Star Referrals Business Networking group.

My family is very active and passionate about participating in running and bicycling events to help raise money for various charities including the American Lung Association and Providence Cancer Research. We have been participating in Hood to Coast, and bicycling events such as Reach the Beach for over ten years.

You will often find our family enjoying the Oregon outdoor lifestyle. My family loves camping year-round, motorcycle riding, running events, bicycling events, boating, working on classic cars, wood working, spending time with our kids and granddaughter, and raising our Boxer rescue pups.

I began my Edward Jones career after leaving an established engineering career of over 25 years in 2018. The biggest difference in the two careers is people. I am passionate about helping people.
