I grew up in Mississippi singing with my two brothers and playing sports throughout my school years. I attended college on a music scholarship, majoring in music education. I taught and directed choirs in public schools and private colleges, but in 1991, I changed careers and entered the financial services industry. I realized that many people were just like me – needing guidance in saving for and living in retirement, so I began teaching them about money and investing, instead of music.
I found Edward Jones in 1996 and took over the Lake Worth branch in 1997, where I practice currently. My branch office administrator, Paula Billups, has been with me now since 2001.
In October 1991, I was wed to my beautiful wife, Stacey – one of the best decisions of my life. She is also an Edward Jones financial advisor. We enjoy traveling together and have literally been all over the world over the past 28 years. We have two children together, and I have three children from my first marriage. I currently have five beautiful grandchildren, and counting. I am a member of the North Park Baptist Church in North Richland Hills and Northwest Chamber of Commerce in Lake Worth, and I am highly committed to the Walk to End Alzheimer's, nationally sponsored by Edward Jones. I also am an avid golfer and play as often as I can.
I love the challenges of helping people, whether it's saving for retirement, planning retirement income strategies or saving for a child's education. Our tailored approach gives clients choices in which ways they choose to work with us, and our primary desire as a branch is to discover what is important to our clients and then use our established process to put them on a solid path toward achieving whatever goals they might have. We then partner with them throughout life to help make sure they remain on track.
