My passion for the financial world started at a young age. And, as I experienced life’s joys and challenges firsthand, seeing how a confident, comfortable, secure foundation frees us to live into our best life, my interest only grew.
Always goal-oriented, as a child I aspired to become president of BB&T. I attended Barton College in part for its proximity to the company, and while there I was hired into the firm’s management program. After graduation I continued to consciously shape my career, landing roles as a commercial credit analyst handling large corporate loans, a commercial lender and a mortgage loan officer.
The years working with homeowners, however, opened my eyes to a different vision. Career experience, as well as marriage and motherhood, further prompted me to evaluate my purpose. I realized that making a difference for individuals by educating and helping them to understand their finances, set goals and create a strong financial base was my top priority.
So, in September of 2008, I made my first in a series of conscious changes by joining the Edward Jones family as a financial advisor. A few years later, I had to make a difficult decision to leave the firm for personal reasons: first surviving a difficult divorce, then cancer.
In April 2017, Edward Jones, being a truly people-focused organization, welcomed me back. I was thrilled to take on an office in Raleigh. And in 2019, Sarah Beck joined as branch office administrator. When you call or visit, you’ll notice her uniquely welcoming, caring approach right away.
