Questions about how money impacts families have interested me since I was young. I saw how job changes and losses, divorces, deaths and other life events altered the hopes and dreams of my friends and loved ones. I have seen that when people are financially secure, any dream is possible and any obstacle can be overcome. As a financial advisor at Edward Jones since 2010, I have helped people prepare for and respond to these life milestones, achieve their financial goals and live their ideal life.

Although I help a variety of clients pursue their financial goals, I particularly enjoy working with people in certain jobs. With teachers and school employees in my family and my practice, I have a lot of experience helping families covered by TRS. Self-employed individuals have unique circumstances and present the greatest opportunities to address multiple financial goals. I served five years in the U.S. Navy and achieved the rank of Lieutenant; I help veterans with their financial planning and through the American Legion.

I invest my time to understand what is important to my clients before I invest their money. Using my established process, I partner with my clients to create individualized strategies to help them accomplish their goals. Also, I spend as much time preparing for unforeseen obstacles that could disrupt the strategy as I do in developing it. Through regular contact with our clients, my branch team ensures that we are aware of all of their financial priorities.

I graduated from Rice University with a bachelor's degree in psychology and managerial studies. With over 30 years business experience, I achieved the CFP® professional certification in 2019.

My family moved to The Woodlands in 2007. My wife, Carolyn, is a speech language pathologist in Conroe ISD and my daughters, Rachel and Robin, are pursuing their careers in Texas. We like travelling and staying involved in our communities. I read historical novels and biographies, watch movies and attend theatre productions and Rice University sporting events.

Sharla Wright's career as a Branch Office Administrator began in 2004. In 2011, Sharla was promoted to Senior Branch Office Administrator. Building lasting client relationships is her motivation. She is a dog mom to a 7-year-old Chihuahua. On weekends, she likes to spend time with family and friends enjoying live music or out on Lake Conroe.
