According to Feeding America, 47 million Americans face food insecurity — including more than 14 million children. Hunger can be present even in prosperous communities. *

Edward Jones teams in Arizona and Southern California are taking action to lessen hunger through the Bag-a-Thon food drive.

Here's how you can help in Arizona:

Edward Jones branches will serve as collection points for nonperishable donations from September 30 through October 26 in the Greater Phoenix area and from October 21 through November 8 in Southern Arizona.

What is needed most:

  • Pasta, canned pasta sauces
  • Beans, rice
  • Chili, soups, stews
  • Canned meat - chicken, tuna
  • Canned fruit and vegetables
  • Canned/dried milk
  • Cereal - whole grain, low sugar
  • Peanut butter

The Bag-a-Thon food drive will culminate for the Greater Phoenix area on Saturday, October 26, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Edward Jones Tempe home office building at 8640 South River Parkway in Tempe, Arizona.

Donations from the October 26 event will be received, packaged and delivered to the United Food Bank and Tempe Community Action Agency. Donations received at Edward Jones branches will benefit local food banks across Arizona.

Here’s how you can help in California:

Edward Jones branches will serve as collection points for nonperishable donations from October 7 through November 7.

What’s needed most:

  • Pasta, canned pasta sauces
  • Beans, rice
  • Chili, soups, stews
  • Canned meat - chicken, tuna
  • Canned fruit and vegetables
  • Individually wrapped snacks - crackers, fruit cups, granola bars, juice boxes, popcorn

Donations will be received, packaged and delivered to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Ventura, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Orange, Loma Linda and San Diego.
