2023 in review

In 2022, we conducted an assessment with our critical internal and external stakeholder groups, including clients, advisors, branch associates, other community members and organizations, suppliers and product partners, as well as regulatory advisors. Our stakeholders' feedback provided us with a set of prioritized focus areas to guide decision-making on strategic objectives, risk management and resource allocations. This page highlights our efforts in the area of Partnering for Lasting Financial Strength.

Foundational efforts

Mindset, skillset and toolset

As we build the mindset and the skillset to serve our clients more completely through deep personal relationships and comprehensive planning and advice, we introduced two new toolsets in 2023 to certain U.S. branch teams. MoneyGuide and Salesforce will help enhance the Edward Jones experience.

More room to grow

We are investing in our associates’ training, learning and growth through programs that contribute to career development. We’re helping associates set their learning goals, separate from required training, and now offer support for 20 different industry designations.

Getting in financial shape

The Edward Jones Financial Fitness program continues to provide high school students and learners of all ages with the tools to build their financial knowledge and confidence through a digital education platform.

Rebuilding a landmark

Benito Vattelana, Financial Advisor, Hagerstown, MD, was the driving force behind rebuilding a historic vaudeville theatre. Built in 1915, the Maryland Theatre burned down in 1974 and sat empty until Benito engaged the community in a drive to rebuild it. He began hosting music and entertainment events to invite people to be part of the experience. Fifteen years later, the theatre has been completely rebuilt into a performing arts center.

Backpack impact

Joe LiPuma, Financial Advisor, Strongsville, OH, brought his and two nearby regions together to organize a school supply and backpack drive for the local Boys & Girls Club. Beyond the benefits to countless schoolchildren, Joe and his peers have seen their client relationships strengthen around a common goal of helping kids.

A passion for people

Shandre Harasty, Financial Advisor in Suffolk, VA, read a study that showed the number one reason employees stay at their companies is because they support their passions outside of work. So, she and her team brought the region together for the Chesapeake Bay Clean the Bay Day, an event that connected top personal passions of education, the environment and children.

A spirit of caring

Whether it’s packing food for kids in need, volunteering at church, taking care of animals or raising money for the arts, the desire to give time, talent, and treasure to causes that matter is something that resides deep in both Neal Norton and Rebecca Daniels.
