Katherine Tierney is a Senior Strategist and leader within Advice & Planning Research. The Advice & Planning Research team develops and communicates the firm's advice and guidance for financial planning topics. Katherine oversees development of advice and guidance for client goals, including retirement, protection, estate and legacy, education, short-term goals, debt management, and tax management. She's also a member of the Advice & Planning Research Council, which serves as an advisory board for all financial planning advice and guidance in the U.S.
Katherine has more than 20 years of financial services and retirement experience. Prior to her current role, Katherine served in a variety of roles at Edward Jones, including senior IRA product leader, digital product manager of the firm's goals-based planning system, and leader of the managed investments team in Product Review. Prior roles outside of Edward Jones include equity research at A.G. Edwards.
Katherine graduated magna cum laude from Saint Louis University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an emphasis in finance. She earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 2008 and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation in 2022.
Katherine is a contributor to Edward Jones Perspective and has been quoted in various publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Kiplinger and GOBankingRates.
Katherine and her husband, Jeff, have two children: Aiden and Jaxon.
