Tamara Graham is currently the Deputy Director of the Commander, Naval Air Forces LEGACY office, supporting leader development, talent management and Naval Aviation outreach for a global community of over 120,000 personnel.
Previously, she was a Naval Officer and Aviator with 30 years of active duty service. Tamara deployed multiple times on various Aircraft Carriers throughout SE Asia, Asia and the Middle East flying H-60 helicopters as part of the U.S. Navy’s Carrier Air Wing. She has served as a flight instructor, Seahawk Weapons and Tactics Instructor, and was honored to command the Legendary Black Knights of HS/HSC-4 onboard the USS Ronald Reagan.
Her staff positions have included managing Theater Security Cooperation for the Special Forces community throughout the Indo-Pacific, directing talent manage-ment and leader development as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion for Naval Aviation and supporting the Navy’s professional education and leader development mission as the Chief of Staff at the Naval War College. She finished her naval career as the Director of Naval Aviation Requirements, supporting an annual budget of over 40 billion dollars to ensure readiness and National Security interests.
Tamara earned a degree in biology from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., and a master’s degree in National Security Studies from the Naval War College in Newport, R.I. She has over 3,200 flight hours and has been blessed to work with amazing teams that have led to her selection for various leadership and profession-al awards.
She is an avid runner and hiker and supports the veteran community as a member of the Miramar National Cemetery Support Foundation board. She and her husband Rich live in beautiful San Diego, Calif., and have one daughter, Erin.
