Thirteen years ago, I became a financial advisor with Edward Jones and selected McKinney, TX as our new home and business address. Before that, I spent 20-plus years working for a large bank and then for the FDIC. Economic and financial analysis have been the mainstays of my career. I have also taught courses in finance, small business management and public administration. In particular, I enjoy helping clients "make sense of investing" and increase their knowledge over time. I am equally equipped to assist those who desire less involvement with the day-to-day financial decision making.

My educational background is both wide and deep. A BA in history from Tarleton State University taught me to organize my thoughts; a Master of Urban & Regional Planning from Texas A&M taught me to do economic and demographic research; and an MBA from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin taught me financial concepts.

Over the years, I have acquired the professional designation of Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS). The College for Financial Planning awards the AAMS® designation to individuals who successfully complete a 12-module professional education program, pass a final examination, commit to its code of ethics and agree to pursue continuing education.

I also wrote a book entitled, “Impaired, But Empowered: A Memoir of Faith, Fortitude, & Fortune” and frequently speak on disability issues.
