In the Air Force, one of my duties was to help others as a volunteer income tax assistant. As a free service to military families, I helped file their federal tax returns. They would often ask me how to save for retirement for their non-military spouse. Eventually that additional duty led me to a career as a financial advisor with Edward Jones.

I have three core values that guide my everyday actions: integrity, stewardship and balance.

Practicing integrity helps me do the right thing for the right reasons. I remain mindful of that in my personal and business relationships. I am honored to partner with you to plan for and protect the financial future of your loved ones, save for their educational expenses and make the right financial decisions for you.

As for stewardship, I am blessed to be able to help people achieve financial dignity for a living. What's most important to me is learning what's most important to you. Once I get to know you and your financial goals, I have an established process that I use to determine the actions to best achieve those goals. I will continue to partner with you and your family throughout your life. We will routinely revisit your goals, refine our understanding of how you and your family members feel about financial risk and update our financial strategies to keep you on track to achieve your goals.

Balance is about spending time with my family and enjoying life. When I'm outside the office, most of my time is spent with my wife of 23 years. We enjoy caring for our home and occasionally biking together. We have six adult children and five grandchildren. We also enjoy remaining active in their lives whether near or afar. I developed a love for hiking and backpacking many decades ago. That love takes me outdoors when time allows. I am a voracious reader of financial periodicals, self-improvement works and fiction. I serve in my community through active participation in the Rancho San Diego Kiwanis group and actively volunteer at the Olaf Wieghorst Museum.

Mostly I enjoy meeting others and building relationships. If you are a serious long-term investor or are curious as to benefits of long-term investing, let's visit!
