I was born and raised in the small farming town of Canton, Georgia, just north of Atlanta. Growing up among the endless rolling hills of farmland, my love of baseball began, and I aspired to be a professional baseball player. A motorcycle injury dashed those dreams, but I never lost hope or the motivation to see and experience the world outside of my hometown; it just was not going to be as a pro baseball player. I enlisted in the Army Corp straight out of high school, and it afforded me the opportunity to enroll into the nursing program at the Medical College of Georgia. I graduated as a registered nurse and was a commissioned Officer in the United States Army, where I served my country in the operating room for over 20 years. My tour of duties included Army bases all over the United States, as well as deployments overseas in Desert Shield/Desert Storm and humanitarian efforts in Zambia, Africa.
I started my career at Edward Jones in 2001, a month after officially retiring from the Army. I began serving my clients in a small office on Bainbridge Island with a great view of the lush, green forests of Washington. Alongside my clients, I have had the honor of experiencing their lives with them as they hit celebratory milestones, life changes and tragedies. As a financial advisor, I felt that it was my responsibility to guide my clients through these times as smoothly as possible, always keeping their best interests at heart. Many of the clients who helped me start my career are still with me today, and I'm grateful for their loyalty and trust, as well as their friendship.
I take my job very seriously, and the work I do as an advisor is far more enjoyable than my second job as a farmer. I am a simple country boy who loves living life on my 22-acre farm with my wife, cats and a herd of over 80 alpacas, occasionally traveling overseas and watching baseball on TV.
