Growing up, my parents encouraged and reinforced many key drivers of my life today: work harder and smarter, be a problem solver, try to do more than anyone expects of you and be willing to lend a hand. Seemingly simple ideals, but of immeasurable value.
Being of service to others is where I am at my best. When I was a police officer, the meaning of helping may have had a vastly different definition, but the goal was the same – always try to leave a situation improved for having been part of it or at the very least, learn from it. I left law enforcement to raise a family; however, my drive to help others led to a new path.
As a financial advisor, aiding in planning for retirement, saving for education, walking along side someone as they navigate a divorce, the loss of a loved one or some other unanticipated fork in the road are situations where being of service matters. Over the last 17 years in this industry, I have learned that providing personal attention, asking questions and really listening to the answers allows me to truly understand my clients and what is most important to them – there is no one size fits all as a financial advisor.
I have called Festus my home for over 23 years and found that being an active part of the community is important to me. When my children, Jake, Nick and Hannah, were younger, if they were active in a sport, so was I – from gymnastics, to football to cheer and pole vault, there was always a way to help in some way and I enjoyed it. Recently, I was elected to serve on the Festus City Council, and I am thankful for the opportunity to continue to be of service. Do good, do good often.
The desire to live a good life isn't an original concept and I am passionate about helping my clients reach that objective, with the investment of time, attention to detail and a shared vision of what it entails. My goal? To look back at a life that allowed me to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
