Growing up, I learned at an early age the value of work ethic. My father was instrumental in teaching me how to work and teaching me the value of a dollar. At the age of 10, I mowed lawns and shoveled snow. I was a businessman. I soon realized that a push mower was great, but I could upgrade to a higher quality riding lawn mower. I borrowed the money short term from my parents to buy my first riding lawn mower and went to work. As I built my business, I expanded my services to more homeowners and accumulated savings in a savings account at a local bank.
At the age of 12, I had a desire to not only work hard for what I earned, but also let my money work hard for me. My dad helped me understand more about investments and I bought my first three stocks from the local Edward Jones office. Two of these stocks provided a good return; one didn't do very well. I learned more about risk and return and now realize that this experience was necessary for me to understand the benefit of buying quality investments and the value of diversification.
My experience as a novice investor has inspired me in my role as a financial advisor at Edward Jones. My goal is to provide a customized experience for hardworking investors in our community. I wanted to turn my work ethic and passion for stocks and investments into a career to help people, which led me to become a financial advisor at Edward Jones and also to earn my AAMS® professional designation.
I focus on learning what is most important to my clients. I want to know what hesitations you may have, and I want to make the process simple and easy to understand, so that you can have a great client experience.
