I grew up, along with my younger sister and brother, in Smith Center, Kansas. As kids, we all kept busy schedules playing multiple sports, 4-H and church activities, along with our summer jobs. Although it was a challenge at times to keep track of who was coming and going, supporting each other in our respective activities was where we always came together as a family. After high school, all of us went on to play sports in college. My sister and I played basketball, and my brother went on to play football at Kansas State University under coach Bill Snyder. Our experiences in team sports instilled the importance of working together for something bigger than just our own individual success.
My career in financial services began in 2007, after graduating from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business and finance. I started my profession as a financial advisor with Waddell & Reed in 2008, then transitioned to Edward Jones in 2010 where I became a limited partner and hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.
We work with people who realize they could be within five years from being financially independent and need their professionals to work in concert across multiple topics such as tax, estate considerations and retirement, to name a few. My clients’ success requires more than a simple plan; it demands a fully integrated process that exemplifies their unique character.
I enjoy supporting my family in our various activities in Kansas City, where I live with our two young boys and an amazing wife who runs her own law firm and somehow still has time to be supermom. Between our work schedules and the countless kids’ activities, life can get a little hectic. However, no matter how chaotic life may seem, we always find time for the things that matter most to us like physical fitness, playing golf and spending time with family and friends.
