I am a financial advisor who focuses on families and business owners that aspire to a work-optional lifestyle: the point when working becomes a choice rather than a necessity. To do this, we first strive to understand what is important to you. Next, we use an established process to create personalized strategies to help achieve your financial goals. Then, we monitor your progress and make adjustments throughout your life to help keep you on track.
To serve our clients, I maintain advanced accreditations such as the CFP®, ChFC® and CLU® certifications from various institutions. I have also been named among the 2022 Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors ranking. [Source: Forbes.com – April 2022; data as of 6/30/21]
I take pride in helping people plan for and transition into retirement. It is a wonderful feeling to sit across from clients and tell them they can retire comfortably, and it is especially rewarding to help them do this earlier than they expected or to have more income in retirement than they thought possible.
My formal education is in mechanical engineering, where I spent several years designing and testing transmission and brake components for companies such as Chrysler and John Deere. My background in engineering has been a tremendous help with my career as a financial advisor. As an engineer, I balanced the aspects of material science, manufacturing capability, quality control, product life and cost to meet the customer's specifications. That experience has taught me to balance investment selection, tax considerations, risk assessment, longevity and expenses in order to help meet client goals and objectives.
Our branch support team is dedicated to providing you the highest possible level of service with over three decades of combined experience. Our team members include Senior Branch Office Administrators Suzanne Farmer, Jacqueline Hunter and Julie Dean.
In order to provide world-class advice and guidance across multiple disciplines, I am proud to partner with financial advisors Craig Brigman and Matt Trent. You can learn more about Craig at www.edwardjones.com/craig-brigman and Matt at www.edwardjones.com/matt-trent.
Our office is located a quarter mile from the entrance to Hollins University in north Roanoke.
