As a child, I spent a great deal of time with my grandmother, who was a child of the Great Depression. She learned what it meant to overcome adversity, both socially and financially. She taught me much about the work ethic, the value of a dollar, but especially how each person has a unique relationship with money. My interest and desire in helping people financially started at a young age.
After graduating from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, I spent a year teaching at an international school in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. It was at this time that I knew I really wanted to translate my passion for helping people achieve their financial goals into a career.
I started a career in finance just before the Great Recession, and I am grateful for the training and experience I gained through those first few challenging years.
My favorite part of the job is sitting down with a client, human to human, connecting on a personal level to truly understand what is most important to them. Once that occurs, only then can I create a strategy to help achieve their financial goals.
My office administrators, Beth and Kathy, are the other half of the team that executes on this one objective: serving our clients to help them achieve their life goals. We all work hard to deliver an ideal experience, personalized to each unique situation.
When I'm not in the office, I can be found chasing around my beautiful and rambunctious young children, Micah, Madelyn and Josiah, with my loving wife and partner of 13 years, Emily. I absolutely adore my family and try to spend as much time with them as I can, and I see that same commonality among many of my clients. My wife and I enjoy sports, traveling and scuba diving, and especially love the beautiful Oregon summers. We are very involved in several organizations in the community, including Safe Families for Children and Going Home II, a prison transition program.
