Born and raised in a loving home just outside of Canton, SD, my parents were born in the dirty '30s. Both were very hard-working and made things simple; work hard, do what you say and treat people how you would like to be treated.

I have always enjoyed working with investments and numbers. Upon high school graduation, I attended Nettleton College and worked my way through the next 18 months earning a Professional Accounting Certification. After working at Citibank two years, I continued to the University of South Dakota to obtain a bachelor's degree in business. Following graduation, I worked for the South Dakota Retirement System before joining Edward Jones in 1989.

My wife, Kris, and I chose Madison to call our home and I opened our office in 1989. We moved here with our 1-year-old son, Brady. He grew up here, attended Dakota Wesleyan college and returned home in 2011 to become an advisor with Jones. Our youngest son, Tyler, attended the University of South Dakota and has been with Edward Jones since 2016. All in the same office, working alongside my sons and having my client's children doing business with my sons has been a dream of mine. In the '80s, when I came here, I said this is where I will be in the future, and now the clients love the younger generation in place to help them going forward if needed. It makes them feel comfortable if something would happen to me.

We also have our dedicated branch office administrators, Ginger, Jennifer and Lori, who support our clients and prospective clients through our established process by providing the support they need to feel informed, organized and understood.

Our office has been invited to Managing Partners conference 10 different years since 2010. This event represents the top 400 offices and their teams of out 18,000 plus offices. This conference brings together the best of the best giving them the opportunity to interact with one another as well as the firm leadership.

My parent's advice of treating people like you would like to be treated has been a way of life that has transpired into more than I could imagine.
