When I was 11 years old, I wanted to buy a new Schwinn bicycle. To be able to purchase this $85 bike, I worked at a lumber yard making pallets on Saturdays for 4 months. It was through this repetitive work that I first learned that goals are met with hard work and determination. However, I wouldn’t have been able to get to the lumber yard without help from my parents who drove me back and forth to the job. That is when I realized we can more easily work toward achieving our goals with the encouragement and help from others.
After majoring in mathematics at Goshen College, I taught math at Broad Ripple High School for five years while also coaching the boys’ tennis and girls’ basketball teams. Helping the students achieve success both in and out of the classroom triggered a desire to give back to those who were less fortunate. This desire resulted in my wife and I volunteering for one year in Zambia, Africa. I was still teaching math but in a much different setting.
Upon returning to the U.S. in 1994, I started my career in the financial services industry at a community bank in Ohio. In 2001, my family and I decided to move to Indianapolis to be closer to extended family. With a focus on the client and ability to have my own office in the community, Edward Jones was the absolute right fit for me to continue to grow in the financial services industry.
In 2020, I was given the honor of being recognized as one of Edward Jones' top 400 financial advisors. Helping clients make the most important financial decisions of their lives and achieve their goals is what motivates me.
The passion for bicycling continues to this day. I enjoy riding with a local cycling group or going for walks with my wife, Lisa, and dog, Ollie. We are season ticket holders and avid fans of Butler Basketball. We have two adult children, Marie and Nolan, and enjoy spending time with them whenever possible.
