After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a bachelor's in finance, my focus shifted to serving our country. With both my father and brother serving in the United States Marine Corps, I never questioned which branch of service was right for me. In March of 2014, I accepted my commission as a Second Lieutenant after graduating Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia. For the next nine months, I continued to advance my training, and graduated from The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course. Upon completion of my active duty assignment, I joined Company F, 2nd Battalion, 24th Marines out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin as an infantry platoon commander.

As my military obligation shifted from full time to a monthly commitment, I could now focus on pursing my civilian profession. Like many in Rochester, Mayo Clinic was the driving force in determining where I would call home. At the time, my now wife was finishing her internship at the Clinic working to become a registered dietitian. One evening, while relaxing in our apartment, she turned me onto an online article titled "FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For" where I discovered Edward Jones.*

Today, I have proudly set aside my canteens and combat boots for a diaper bag and sippy cups. As my family grew, my priorities changed. I will be forever grateful for those I served with and the lessons they taught me. At the same time, I am blessed to have additional time at home with my wife, Tara, son, Grayson, daughter, Avery, and Golden Retriever, Piper.
