In 2001, I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a bachelor's degree in communications. After graduation, my wife, Christi, and I moved to The Woodlands where I started in the financial industry as an annuity wholesaler with Insurmark. In the fall of 2002, I was given the opportunity to become a teacher at Huffman High School where I taught speech communication and a business class. I was also a varsity coach for football, baseball and basketball. Once Christi had our first child (Cole), I decided that I needed to move on and get back into the financial industry.
In May of 2004, I was hired as a financial advisor with Edward Jones in Crosby, Texas. For the next four years, our family grew as Christi gave birth to two more boys (Connor and Cameron). With our family complete, we thought that we would settle down in Crosby and never leave.
However, in August of 2008, I received a call from a leader in our firm asking me to relocate back to Nacogdoches and take over an office that they needed help with. After talking with Christi we decided to make the move. It hasn't always been smooth but I can honestly say that was a really good decision for us.
My boys now attend Central Heights High School and my family is active in the community that I serve. I now work with a valued group of investors in my area to help them meet their financial goals. I couldn't be any more happy than I am now to have this opportunity. Hopefully, one day we can retire here and enjoy the lifestyle that many of my clients already do.
