At the age of 16, I decided to become a financial planner. I pursued a finance degree through James Madison University and have not updated my resume since. Hindsight is always 20/20, and from this side of that decision many years later, I have settled on two motivating reasons for my work and passion.
1. As a 12-year-old, I committed to never working a job inside until I was an adult. I quickly learned the value of a dollar through the work it took to earn one. I ran a landscaping business and worked for an arborist, property manager, contractor and commercial roofer from middle school through college. I worked harder and longer hours only to have saved at the age of 20 the same amount I had at age 12. Organizing, growing, preserving and transferring wealth is a complex task. Without expert guidance and partnership, you can work hard for decades to wake up and not have the appropriate assets to fund your financial goals.
2. My parents, early in their marriage, partnered with a few trusted advisors and business mentors. That, combined with a lot of hard work and ingenuity, has changed the course of my family's life, and provided opportunities I could not have dreamed of at the time. Helping to orchestrate these possibilities for each of my clients is what I love most about my job.

Fast forward a few years; a wedding, two sons, a home purchase, becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and an office relocation to Court Square takes us to the present. As a family, we love Harrisonburg and the Valley, and have grown roots here through our church, friends and the families and businesses I am honored to partner with.

My team includes a wide array of financial and business professionals alongside my Branch Office Administrator, Mindy Stiltner. Together, we strive to provide warm and relational world-class service to our clients.

Mindy and her husband, Mike, have four sons and reside in Strasburg, VA. She had a 22-year career in real estate before coming to Edward Jones. She has many hobbies and interests, but is most passionate about gardening, cooking, the outdoors and leadership within her church.

As a CFP® professional, I am best equipped for complicated financial situations that require a heightened level of care. Please feel free to reach out. The honor is ours to partner with you in the creation and cultivation of your financial vision.
