My mother was my hero in life. As a single parent of five, she started a printing company from scratch and built it into a thriving business before her untimely death. I was lucky to work beside her for several years, and she taught me invaluable lessons on the value of a work ethic and how to properly treat your clients.
It was initially as a client that I was introduced to Edward Jones. After many discussions with my financial advisor, it was evident I needed to become a part of this firm, given the culture and environment they create for their clients and employees. I've been a member of the Edward Jones family for almost 20 years - seven of those years as a client.
So how do we do business here? Well, most financial advisors are going to discuss things like portfolio construction or diversification. However, first I need to find out what's most important to you. There's a process to identify what that is and then execute that process which does include discussions on portfolio construction and diversification.
But we all know life happens and a wrench is thrown in from time to time. It might be a good wrench like the birth of a grandchild or a job promotion, but also can be a bad wrench like needing to care for an elderly parent or one of your children loses their job.
I plan to partner with you as these good and bad wrenches pop up and help to make sure you stay on track.
On a personal note, my wife, Jessica, and I have three children, Jack, Jason and Abigail. I have been active in business and civic affairs in Kansas City for many years. I also am a member of the Independence Chamber of Commerce and a volunteer and past board member with the United Way of Greater Kansas City, and the Marion Hope Center.
