Jon Dickson

In making the move from my country of birth, South Africa, to my new home in the USA, my American wife and I bid farewell to a wonderful lifestyle, supported by rental properties and investments. We felt called to embark on a new chapter of our life together in Candice's home country.

Since making the move to the USA, this great country has been a land of opportunity for us, as I was hired by Edward Jones and have been fortunate to grow my branch as well. This uniquely warm and developmental firm has provided excellent training and fertile fields for growth, to compliment my existing skill-set.

In addition to significant career and family growth here in the States, I was honored to become a US citizen in 2020.

I have a finance and economics degree from a major South African university, the University of Natal, and an advanced diploma in management accounting from CIMA.

Before heeding the call to show care, understanding, respect and validation in assisting retirees and others navigating their financial journey, my previous passion was developing the most promising college students from around South Africa. At the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, I co-developed a program to teach investment and business skills to excellent students, many from impoverished backgrounds, in the hope that they will one day start businesses, employ people and alleviate poverty in Southern Africa.

My wife and I have been blessed with two special children. Our beautiful son, Caden, and wonderful daughter, Cambria, are huge inspirations and have added an entirely new meaning to life.

My love for my wife and children has crystallized my vision as a financial advisor, which is to take finances off the table as an issue to worry about, to enable people to spend more time with people they love doing things they enjoy.
