Since birth, I've loved money. I would go to the bank with my mom and by age 9, I was playing banker. Instead of my underwear drawer, I drew lines for all my monopoly money. This fascination with money and numbers inspired me to start investing my own money at age 19. I didn't realize how weird it was for a young woman to be investing until I became a financial advisor.
As I met with women and couples, I was shocked at how many women struggled to be engaged, but I started explaining in ways that made sense and I saw them lean in. They became more interested. They became more engaged. They became more empowered… And that's when I knew my true purpose. My true purpose as a financial advisor is to help change the experience for women where they are excited about managing their money, where they look forward to meeting with their financial advisor and they become more empowered to engage in the process, taking more control of their financial life.
After 22 years in the financial industry working in tax, manufacturing and financial services, I joined Edward Jones in 2014.
As a financial advisor, I help people reach their financial goals. I do this by first understanding what is important to my clients and looking at the whole picture. In order to provide a comprehensive service, I collaborate with my clients' attorneys and CPAs when necessary.
I hold a series 7 and 66 registration and earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist™ (AAMS®)* and Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®) professional designations.
Outside of the office, I enjoy membership in the following organizations:
*Kiwanis Club of Rockford
*Junior League of Rockford
*Business Networkers International
*Rockford Chamber of Commerce
*The College for Financial Planning awards the AAMS® designation to individuals who successfully complete a 12-module professional education program, pass a final examination, commit to its code of ethics and agree to pursue continuing education.
