The seed that would grow to become my career as a financial advisor was planted when I was in middle school. I would read my Dad's old copies of "The Journal" and complain to him that my savings account was not earning very much. At my exasperated Dad's suggestion, I rode my bike to my hometown Edward Jones office in Baker City, Oregon to open an account.
I graduated from the University of Oregon with honors, majoring in economics and Spanish. After college, I worked for a wholesale coffee company in Medford, Oregon. The coffee business taught me beans--and an understanding of the importance of building personal relationships with my clients. I still drink a lot of coffee.
I have been with Edward Jones in Sherwood since 1998. Edward Jones is the perfect fit: It provides me the resources of a large organization focused on serving individual investors and the independence to deliver service face to face from my local branch office. I am able to invest time in getting to know my clients so that I can help them navigate their financial goals, be they retirement, education, protection or creating a legacy.
Some local organizations I have been involved with include:
The Chamber of Commerce
Friends of the Tualatin River Refuge
The Sherwood Library Advisory Board
Meals on Wheels Steering Committee
The Sherwood Rotary Club
My wife, Abby, and I have two children: a daughter who is in college and a son who is a high school senior. They are both musicians: she is a violist and he is a percussionist. One of my best investments was noise-cancelling headphones. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, photography, road cycling and spin classes.
My branch office administrator, Lynne Antonson, and I enjoy working with folks who are serious long-term investors, but who don't take themselves too seriously. Please contact our office to set up a time for us to talk and see how we can partner together to help you achieve your goals. You don't have to be in middle school.
