When I first met with an Edward Jones representative, I was told of the firm's belief that you always do what's right for the client, no matter what. It was an expectation rooted deep in the firm's culture. At that time I made the personal decision to become an Edward Jones client, and after seven years of receiving service that matched those expectations, I chose to change careers and become an Edward Jones financial advisor with the intent of growing and serving my own client relationships.
I previously spent 15 years as a teacher in Georgia, Alabama and Minnesota working with a range of students and teaching various subject areas within the curriculum. My background in teaching has had a strong influence on how I approach my role as a financial advisor. I believe my clients are most successful when they understand and are comfortable with what we are doing and why.
I received my bachelor of arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1995. After switching professions I continued my education by completing ChFC designation through the American College of Financial Services, as well as the CRPS designation through The College for Financial Planning.
Along with our two sons, Jake and Sam, my wife, Kathy, and I have lived in the Northfield area since 2007.
My senior branch office administrator, Robin Kastner, has been with Edward Jones since 2000 and continues to show a dedication to providing clients with a high level of service.
My ideal client is someone who is looking for a partnership to solve the challenges of preparing for retirement, replacing income during retirement, organizing an estate, saving for education, or providing protection for what takes a lifetime to build.
