I joined Edward Jones in 1993, opening the second Asheville branch office serving clients in Asheville and across the USA. In college, I thought I wanted to pursue psychology or fitness education until I learned about the power of compounding returns and the role that behavioral finance plays in decision making. My clients often first contact me during times of transition such as retirement or receipt of an inheritance. These events sometimes require more complex financial strategies and are life events in which the right decision making is extremely important.
I became a limited partner with Edward Jones in 1998. In 2019, I was named a regional leader with leadership responsibilities for the over 80 Edward Jones branches in Western North Carolina.
Pamela Banks and Wendy Carpenter, my branch team, have received numerous awards and recognitions. Pamela and Wendy have both been with me over 20 years. They are both native to the area. As a team, we provide highly personalized service to our clients using established processes. This process helps ensure I understand our clients' complete financial picture. By doing this, we can take the guess work out and partner with our clients to help them reach their goals and desired outcomes.
Originally from New Jersey, I moved to Western North Carolina as a child and grew up in the mountains. My wife, Wendy, and I met in high school and both attended Western Carolina University. I graduated in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and management. After college, we moved to Asheville. We have three wonderful daughters, Lauren, Alanna Rose and Gianna, and our loving King Charles Spaniel, Jaxx. Outside my office, we attend Biltmore Church and have been active members of the community, serving in various roles in Optimist Club, Kiwanis and Young Life, and supporting our local Asheville Symphony.
Give us a call or stop by the branch to schedule a review and remember: “You can’t control the wind, but you can adjust your sails.”
