I was born and raised in Waxahachie, Texas – the son of a teacher and small business owner. My parents raised me to always do right by people and taught me that the value of a person lied solely in their integrity. I went to Texas A&M with the intention of becoming an AG teacher. I was drawn to teaching because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others – as many teachers do.
I like to say that I came to be a financial advisor by accident. Edward Jones presented me with an opportunity, and, at the time, I felt I was unqualified. My background was in agriculture education, not in finance. I was told then, which I now know to be true: Edward Jones hires based on values and character. We can teach people finance; we can't teach them to be good people.
I have always taken that with me. I view my role as a financial advisor to be that of a teacher. Whether you are brand new to investing or a seasoned veteran, my goal remains the same: to educate you.
I attended Texas A&M University where I received a bachelor's degree in agriculture education as well as a Master of Education degree in agriculture leadership, education and communications. In 2017, I earned the AAMS® designation from the College for Financial Planning.
I married my high school sweetheart, Emilie, in 2015. Emilie also graduated from Texas A&M and is a special education teacher for Waxahachie ISD. We enjoy Aggie football, antiquing and travelling together.
In my free time, I will either be at a college football game, sitting in a deer stand, working on a jeep or hiking a National Park. I am an avid outdoorsman and hunter.
My Branch Office Administrator, Daphne Hawkins, began working for Edward Jones in 2019. She has a great deal of experience in business management. She is here to help with any administrative assistance you may need.
