My team and I primarily oversee the financial success of a select group of retirees and hardworking business owners and professionals who, among other things, aspire to a work-optional lifestyle. The families we serve are engaged in our process without micromanaging and have gratitude for today and ambition for tomorrow. They are wonderful people who are positive, optimistic and realistic. My team at Edward Jones has developed and refined a process to put all the pieces together for those who aspire to that lifestyle. We begin by first understanding what's important to you, building personalized strategies to help you reach your goals, and ultimately, partnering with you throughout your life to keep you on track.

I grew up on a homestead west of Fort Pierre, throwing bales, raising cattle and growing crops. I then went on and graduated from Augustana University in 1999, and now live in Sioux Falls with my wife, Erika, and seven children: Regina, Tristan, Georgiana, Layla, Alissandra, Melania and Tarrent.

I received the CFP® certification in 2011. The CFP® certification is awarded to individuals who meet the CFP® Board's stringent requirements. To gain certification, a financial advisor must complete a CFP® Board Registered educational program, pass the CFP® examination and background check, and agree to comply with the CFP® Board's Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct.

I received the CRPC™ designation in 2012. This advanced training focuses on the pre- and post-retirement needs of individuals. Study topics include principles of retirement planning, sources of retirement income, employer-sponsored plans, deferred compensation plans, plan distributions, investment strategies during retirement, and planning for incapacity, disability, and long-term care.

I received the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) in 2016. CLU® training focuses on topics such as risk management and insurance, estate strategies, and planning for business owners and professionals.

I received the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) in 2020. This designation is a professional certification for financial advisors who serve high-net-worth clients. The program focuses on the wealth lifecycle from accumulation to preservation and distribution, identifying and analyzing the unique challenges that high-net-worth clients face and developing strategies to address these challenges.
