I was born in Payson, Utah, when it was still a small, rural town. My parents and most of my extended family owned their own businesses. My parents and my grandfather let me be involved in helping with their businesses at a very young age. That environment of entrepreneurship engendered in me an understanding of hard work and demanded integrity and self-reliance. Through this I gained a unique perspective on the needs and challenges of small business owners. That perspective, combined with my desire to help others, motivated me at a young age to look to the financial industry as a career path.

Fast forward a few years when I started with Edward Jones in 2007. I began in the corporate offices in St. Louis where I also attended the College of Financial Planning. I assumed responsibility for the South Jordan, Utah, branch in November of 2008 amidst the Great Recession. Though that presented significant difficulties, I was determined to help my clients recover and move forward.

There are a few groups of people that I find especially rewarding to work with. One is small business owners. I understand how they think and what keeps them up at night. My understanding allows me to help them maximize their business, work with their CPA to minimize tax liability and support their success.

The second group of people are those who have lost a spouse or are in the throes of divorce. I have established a process to help them with their complex needs, while supporting them when they are feeling most vulnerable.

My last group are those born in the '50s and '60s. They are savers, not spenders. While they may not think they are affluent, they recognize the need for help. They value meeting on a regular basis and tracking their progress toward their goals.

Over the years, I've attended the Edward Jones Managing Partners Conference, helped multiple new advisors get started and taken courses given by some of the top leaders in the industry. I received my AAMS™ designation in May of 2010. My goal is to never stop learning and growing; both professionally and personally.

My wife and I have been married for 15 years and have four children. Our family enjoys traveling and being in the outdoors. Our community support includes involvement with the Lyme disease community, working with immigrants and supporting mental health research.
