In 2011, I lost a friend and neighbor in a tragic accident. Unfortunately, I had to witness firsthand what the death of a father and husband would do to a family. Fortunately, wise financial decisions had been made. Under the circumstances, his family was able to see as good of an outcome as one could have. My childhood contained lessons on saving, investing and being good stewards of your money. None of them were as impactful as witnessing the value of what financial planning did for my neighbors.

I joined Edward Jones in 2002 while attending the Univ. of Iowa. I gained invaluable experience while working at branches in Iowa City and my hometown of Clear Lake, IA. In 2006, I married my wife, Abby, in Des Moines and by 2007, we had relocated to St. Louis to embark on a year-long training program at the Edward Jones Home Office. In September of 2008, we moved to her hometown of Newton, and I established a branch of my own. We've enjoyed becoming part of the community and have created lifelong relationships here.

In the branch, we use an established 5-Step process that starts with understanding what’s important to you. Our goal is to make each client feel understood, informed and educated on their investments and the strategy we've put in place to help achieve your financial goals.

My office administrators, Sara Warnick and Jody Bucklin, are dedicated to making sure your experience with our branch is a positive one. Sara and I have worked together since 2010 and I often wonder how I was so lucky to find her. After your first visit, you will quickly understand what I mean. She is a native of Baxter and lives in Newton with her husband, Mike, and their two boys, Dane (14) and Trey (11). Jody and her husband, Scott, live South of Baxter and have two children and three grandchildren. She joined our office in 2022 after working for four years at an Edward Jones branch in Ankeny.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Abby, and our two children, Drew (13) and Kate (11). When we aren’t taxiing them to and from practices, you can find us being involved in church, Rotary, soccer, golfing, running, traveling or walking our Border Collie, Sadie. Over the years, I've served in several volunteer roles with Rotary and the Salvation Army.
