I began my career with Edward Jones during the Great Recession of 2008. I was struck by how many people I met who were receiving little, if any, communication from their financial advisors during the financial crisis of the time. Many of them turned to me as their trusted financial advisor, and I haven’t forgotten the lessons I learned of how important it is that people feel cared for and properly advised about their money and financial goals.
What makes this role especially rewarding is that this kind of personal care was modeled to me firsthand as an Edward Jones client. My financial advisor guided me through the “Dot Com” Recession of 2001 and the ensuing shock of 9/11. His patience, guidance and knowledge provided me the confidence to stay true to my own personal financial goals.
My focus is helping motivated individuals and families solve financial complexities, live comfortably in retirement and create a meaningful legacy with actionable strategies.
I hold a B.A. from Minnesota State University. I earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification from the University of California-Berkeley and the Accredited Asset Management Specialist™ (AAMS™) designation from the Denver College for Financial Planning. These professional designations represent a comprehensive understanding of financial management, tax-sensitive investment strategies, retirement savings, insurance planning, education savings planning and estate considerations.
I am married to Liz and live in Franklin, North Carolina, with our 10-year-old son, Oscar, who loves baseball, basketball and outdoor adventures with us and our golden retriever, Brody. We enjoy camping, fishing, traveling to new places and craft breweries.
