My story can be divided in two parts: the part before April 11, 2009, and the part after. Before that date, I saw a world reeling from the financial crisis. People were adrift in turbulent economic seas. TV talking heads screeched loudly, warning folks to "stay tuned" for the next bit of vital news. And everyone seemed petrified about the next economic calamity to come.

That all changed for the people I know on April 11, 2009. That's when I became a financial advisor with Edward Jones, transitioning from a job as a lawyer to a calling where I help people answer the most complex questions of their lives. Since then, I have put my background and life experiences to work, helping successful families and business owners in the Triangle and beyond.

I guide people through advanced strategies that optimize wealth, protect resources, take care of families and secure legacies for the causes dearest to my clients' hearts. Clients tell me they appreciate my ability to cut through the noise and help them clarify what's really important. And I'm pleased for the reputation and recognition we have earned, having been featured in the Wall Street Journal and trade publications, as well on local radio.

Professionally, I have brought a growth mindset and spirit of service to the fields of law and business. Early on, I developed problem solving skills as a loan officer and title examiner. In 2008, I was admitted to the NC Bar and practiced with Schell Bray PLLC. I earned both my JD and BA from the College of William and Mary. And, nice as those degrees are, lifelong learning is a core value. That's why I earned my CFP® certification in 2015 and my ChFC® and CLU® designation in 2021.

Outside work, I rarely pass up a chance to engage in our community. I serve on the NC Bar Association investment committee. As an Eagle Scout, I support the work of Scouts in the Triangle. I am active in the Rotary Club of Durham, where I can regularly be found improvising music interludes before meetings. My family and I attend Green Level Church in Cary.

Speaking of family, I'm exceptionally lucky to live with my wife and college sweetheart, Elizabeth. We reside in Apex with our three daughters, Mary Alice, Amity and Genevieve, as well as 12 chickens.

Personally, my interests include music, voiceover work, podcasts, classic automobiles, baking breads, fishing and aviation.
