One of my favorite memories from childhood is of saving money. Every time we would come home from the grocery store, my parents would give my sisters and me their pocket change to place into a gigantic plastic soda bottle-shaped piggy bank. It would take us almost a whole year to completely fill it. This was one of the many life lessons that I learned about money as a child. Investing takes patience over a long period of time.
After college, I served in several Dodge County communities as a teacher in multiple capacities. Many of the same attributes I applied as a school teacher have helped me serve my clients as a financial advisor. In 2012, I joined Edward Jones because they share these same attributes. 1. Be a good listener to find out what's important to my clients. 2. Assist clients to create a personalized financial strategy. 3. Mentor clients through volatile moments both in the markets and in life. 4. Partner with my clients to measure progress and stay on track.
My wife, Heidi, and I have four children. Our home is Beaver Dam and we enjoy many of the parks, recreational activities and restaurants the community has to offer. Most of our free time is spent outdoors, watching movies, playing musical instruments and watching our children learn new hobbies and sports. Heidi and I are active participants in the Horicon Lion's Club, Dodgeland Dollars for Scholars and Youth Baseball.
