As an Infantry Officer in the US Army, I was awarded several medals including the Bronze Star, Army Accommodation Medal and Combat Infantry Badge. After I was discharged, I attended Florida State University where I received my Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
After graduating from FSU, I worked as a certified public account (CPA) for KPMG. I practiced as a CPA for 12 years. I opened my office with Edward Jones as a financial advisor in Temple Terrace in 1997.
I have always been very active in the community. This includes having served as president of two different Rotary Clubs, with the board of directors of the Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce, on the advisory board of a local bank, with the board of directors of a local Cancer charity, as the treasurer of the PTA of a local school as well as coaching girls' soccer for several years.
I am very proud of my wife, Elizabeth. We met when we were students at Florida State University. She is the heart and soul of our family and has supported and encouraged me in every endeavor. Elizabeth retired after 23 years as a middle school teacher which was interrupted for 18 years to raise our three daughters.
