Becoming a financial advisor who provides authentic, holistic, goals-based advice was not in my life plan growing up because money conversations were taboo, and no one knew anything about financial advisors.
I’m grateful my life lessons taught me how to be vulnerable, empathetic and attentive to my clients’ needs and concerns as we partner together to help make their dreams a reality.
The son of a teacher and factory worker born three months premature and given 30 days to live, I could write a book about the other times life punched me in the mouth and I got up:
- Losing my dream of becoming a professional baseball player to a torn ACL
- Failing a critical mechanical engineering class and passing 43 credit hours my senior year to graduate on time from the University of Tennessee
- Changing careers after 13 years and starting over as the sole income earner for my family
- Surviving a near-fatal heart attack at 38 years old
Sitting at my kitchen table on December 23, 2012, overwhelmed and depressed about my career and my life at the time, I cried a puddle of tears, decided enough was enough and chose to chase my dreams. Three years later with a mentor’s recommendation, I decided to take the road less traveled to become an Edward Jones financial advisor.
The principles of desire, dedication and discipline serve as the foundation of my life, our client relationships and our branch team. My life experiences serve as both humility and perspective to help you ask the questions you do not know you need to ask and to provide advice and guidance so you can manage life’s risks before they become problems keeping you up at night.
My clients receive more than spending, saving, investment and retirement strategies. They have a have a branch team they can call any time who cares about what is important to them.
