Rockford area born and raised; I grew up in a self-employed household. I learned from my parents what a strong work ethic and perseverance look like. While I was in high school, my dad became extremely ill and was no longer able to work and provide for his family. My mom struggled for months trying to take care of him and their once thriving business. Ultimately, the business failed, and so did my dad's health. When my dad succumbed to his illness at the early age of 43, my mom had to start over on her own. If they had sought the help and knowledge of a financial advisor to help guide them in the early years of the business, she would have had the financial means and time to grieve properly. The struggles we went through as a family are what drive me today to be an advocate for my clients and their families.
Losing my father was, of course, difficult for my entire family and we dealt with the grief in different ways. I know that his work ethic and passion for taking care of his family live on in all of us today.
I found Edward Jones after my first big job change. I wanted to partner with a financial advisor on my 401(k) rollover to help diversify my retirement portfolio. At our first meeting, we built a true connection and we continued to meet to work towards my personal financial goals. The relationship turned to a mentorship, and I became a financial advisor myself. I continue to work on my knowledge and training to actively pursue additional strategies for my client's unique needs. In doing so, I have earned my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ designation.
It is my passion to partner with families just like yours, to achieve help your own individual financial goals. I want your hard-earned money to work for you, so that you can reach your goals and spend your hard-earned free time with those you hold most dear.
Those that I hold most dear are my husband, Mark, and our two adult daughters and grandson. We enjoy game nights, listening to live music and traveling. I am an active volunteer with Make-A-Wish Illinois, Parks Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Loves Park Rotary.
