People are busy and finances are complicated. I began saving for retirement with my first paycheck. My first job out of college offered a six percent match which I knew I needed to take advantage of. I knew that was the smart thing to do, but what I did not know was, is it enough? Should I put more into my 401(k)? What about a Roth IRA? Is there something else I should be doing? Will I be able to retire when I want to? This is how I became a financial advisor. I wanted to guide people through these decisions.

I went to Washburn for two years and finished my degree at Emporia State University graduating with a degree in economics and minors in math and business. In June of 2006 my wife, Crystal, and I moved to Kansas City and I started working at State Street pricing PIMCO mutual funds. After five years at State Street, I moved on to a company called Swiss Re and was on the investment reporting team for five years. I loved the investment aspects of my prior jobs but realized I was missing an important aspect of my career, helping others.

Now, I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to sit down with individuals to help them achieve their most important financial goals. Additionally, I have a phenomenal teammate, Danielle Thoele, who is dedicated to answering your questions and helping to make your lives run more smoothly. We meet with our clients individually to build personalized strategies to reach their goals. We then partner with them to help them stay on track and navigate through the inevitable challenges we all face throughout our lifetime.
