On Jan. 1, Penny Pennington became the sixth managing partner in Edward Jones’ history. Edward Jones Perspective sat down with her to help you get to know her better.
Penny Pennington: I joined Edward Jones in 2000 as a financial advisor in Michigan. I loved the clients – they were like family to me! Since 2006, I've been at our headquarters in St. Louis, supporting our financial advisors and branch office administrators as they serve our clients. Throughout my career here, I’ve been privileged to learn from a lot of great people.
Penny Pennington: If I had to pick just one thing, it’s that we’re here to make a difference in the lives of all our clients. We want our clients to achieve their goals, whether it’s for retirement, a child’s education or beyond to leaving a legacy – as well as protecting those goals. We take the time to listen to each client so we can help him or her plan. That’s our “why.” Also, the root of our culture is taking care of clients and each other as professionals. This is a great place to work because we get up every morning thinking about our clients and what’s most important to them.
Penny Pennington: We’re always thinking about new ways to improve the experience clients have with Edward Jones. We’re reimagining our mobile, tablet and desktop tools in ways that will strengthen and enhance the face-to-face relationship our clients have with their financial advisors and their branch office administrators. Importantly, we want these tools to raise our clients' confidence in their progress toward achieving their most important goals.
