Electronic documents and Online Access

With Online Access, we provide your documents electronically whenever possible. They are posted online, where you can view, save or print them. When new documents are ready, we’ll notify you by email. For some of the documents we deliver electronically, you can request paper (duplicate) copies in the mail through the Settings page in Online Access.

Documents we provide

Below is a summary of documents we deliver electronically, including how often they are posted to Online Access and what options you have. Regardless of the options listed below, you can request a paper copy of any document by contacting your local Edward Jones office.

Statements and quarterly reports

Purpose
Statements provide information about your account balances, security positions and activity that occurred in your account.

Quarterly reports summarize a variety of holdings and performance information if you hold an Advisory Solutions account.

 

Posted
Statements are posted at the end of any month in which you had activity in your account and/or at the end of each calendar quarter.

Quarterly reports are posted at the end of each calendar quarter.

 

Paper options

You can request to receive duplicate copies of (1) any statement generated at the end of each month; (2) the statements generated in March, June, September and December; or (3) the statements generated in December.

Note: Paper copies of quarterly reports cannot be requested through Online Access. You can request a paper copy by contacting your local Edward Jones office.

 

Tax forms

Purpose
Provide a detailed breakdown of income reported to the IRS (including cost basis information) and other supplemental information that may be useful in preparing your taxes. Includes forms 5498, 1099-R, 1099-Q and the Consolidated 1099 Tax Package, which combines the substitute IRS forms 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-MISC, 1099-OID and 1099-B.

Trade confirmations

Purpose
Provide a record of the details of your securities transactions.

Overnight, after a trade.

 

Paper options
You can request to receive duplicate copies of trade confirmations in the mail through Online Access.

 

Prospectuses

Purpose
Provide important background information and required disclosures related to a stock, a mutual fund or another security. Links to prospectuses are often provided in conjunction with a trade confirmation.

 

Posted
Overnight after a trade or when an updated prospectus is available.

 

Paper options
You cannot request to receive duplicate copies of prospectuses in the mail through Online Access.

 

Proxies and other shareholder materials

Purpose
Issuers and mutual fund companies provide proxy notices and other shareholder materials, including annual/semiannual reports, to inform you about your investments and allow you to vote your proxy ballots.

 

Posted
Whenever these materials are available electronically. Note: Some issuers and mutual fund companies only provide communications by mail.

 

Paper options
You can request to receive proxy ballots and shareholder materials in the mail through Online Access. Note: For these documents only, requesting paper through the settings in Online Access will stop electronic delivery.

 

Notices and account verifications

Purpose
Notify you of changes or other important information related to your Edward Jones accounts or products and services associated with your accounts. This includes communications designed to protect the security of your accounts.

 

Posted
Whenever new documents and communications are available.

 

Paper options
You cannot request to receive duplicate copies of notices and account verifications in the mail through Online Access.

 

Here are answers to common questions

Why can’t I get all my documents electronically?

While we try to provide as many documents as possible electronically, we must send some documents by U.S. mail. This includes certain regulatory notices and communications designed to protect the security of your account. You can turn off paper mail for many documents by updating your settings.

I don’t want to receive emails when new documents are posted. How do I stop them?

With Online Access, we provide your documents electronically. We’re required to notify you when new documents are available to view online, save or print. Email is the way we do this. If you wish to stop email notifications, please contact your Edward Jones office to discuss removing your accounts from Online Access.

I want to receive all my documents in the mail. How do I make this election?

Electronic communications are a key element of our Online Access service. If you wish to have all documents mailed to you, please contact your Edward Jones office to discuss removing your accounts from Online Access.
