Edward Jones Principal Kate Warne, Ph.D., CFA, serves as Edward Jones’ investment strategist. In this role, she interprets market conditions, identifies current investment risks and opportunities, and recommends appropriate investment strategies to aid clients in working toward reaching their long-term financial goals.
Kate began her Edward Jones career in 1997 as an energy analyst in the Research department and in 1998 became an investment strategist. She was named an Edward Jones principal two years later and since 2003, has served on the Edward Jones Investment Policy Committee, the group responsible for the firm’s investment advice and guidance, asset allocation guidelines and expectations for long-term capital market returns.
Kate earned a doctorate in economics, specializing in finance and competitive strategy, from Yale University. She also earned a master’s of science from the London School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree with high honors from Swarthmore College. She is a CFA® charterholder.
Kate has been a frequent guest on CNBC, CNN and Bloomberg and is quoted regularly in such major publications as The Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, USA Today, the Financial Times, Forbes and FORTUNE. She participated in the 2016 Market Outlook panels for USA Today and FORTUNE and the 2018 Market Outlook panels for Money and FORTUNE.
Before joining Edward Jones, Kate worked for AT&T and General Motors. She moved to St. Louis when she was hired as an assistant professor of finance at the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University. Kate lectured at Yale University and was an economist at the President’s Council of Economic Advisors.
