Kevin Alm leads Solutions within the Client Strategies Group and since 2012 has served as a member of the Edward Jones Management Committee, providing critical thought and leading and driving initiatives that allow Edward Jones to progress toward the firm’s vision of becoming the first choice of serious, long-term individual investors.
Client-centricity drives the Solutions area, which integrates the firm’s advice and guidance, products and services, tools, and training and field support to enable branch teams to deliver tailored solutions to help clients achieve their goals.
In 1992, shortly after marrying and relocating to Minnesota, Kevin began his career as an Edward Jones financial advisor in Falcon Heights, Minn. Three years later, he assumed responsibility for an office in Fergus Falls, Minn.
In 1996, Kevin and retired Principal Alan Anderson convinced Kevin’s wife, Tami Jo, to become a financial advisor and assume responsibility for the second office in Fergus Falls. Throughout those early years, Kevin and Tami Jo experienced the challenges and satisfaction of building two successful Edward Jones branch offices.
Kevin was named a principal with the firm in 2002 and asked to lead New Financial Advisor Training. When their family relocated to St. Louis, Tami Jo retired from the firm to focus her energy on raising their children.
Kevin proved to be a versatile leader with a passion and talent for supporting and guiding financial advisors and branch teams. Over the years, his responsibilities expanded to include training financial advisors and branch office administrators. While serving in that capacity, Kevin spearheaded the firm’s transition to “blended learning” and led the development and launch of practice management levels, which replaced the previously used financial advisor segments model.
A native of Grand Forks, N.D., Kevin grew up in Naples, Fla., and spent a great deal of time on the water. He loves sailing and boating with Tami Jo and their three children. He has an undergraduate finance degree from Florida International University in Miami and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
Kevin chairs the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association Private Client Services Committee and works to better the lives of others in the St. Louis area by serving on the board of directors for the Washington University Capital Campaign, St. Louis Science Center, and Breakdown STL, a nonprofit organization that educates, equips and empowers teens to make positive life choices.
