Alan F. Skrainka, CFA
Chief Market Strategist

Alan Skrainka has been with Edward Jones’ Research Department since 1982.

Skrainka became a Chartered Financial Analyst in 1986 and was named a principal in the firm in 1988. In 1996, Skrainka joined the Investment Policy Committee as the firm’s chief market strategist.

He has been quoted in nearly every major media outlet and often appears on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, FOX Business and PBS' Nightly Business Report. 

In addition, Skrainka has also taught classes in retirement planning at the University of Missouri - St. Louis. 

Skrainka earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1983, and he earned an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis in 1990.

Skrainka is responsible for the Edward Jones Model Stock Portfolio, which has consistently ranked among the top firms in long-term performance. In addition, he authors Investment Perspective, the firm’s monthly research report containing stock recommendations, market commentary and articles on investment strategy. This publication reaches an audience of 1.3 million.
