Edward Jones Ranked Second Best Company to Work For in UK
Financial Services company, Edward Jones is celebrating after being ranked second in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For in the mid-sized company category - a jump of four places. "We are extremely proud to have received this important recognition," said Tim Kirley, Edward Jones principal and country leader for the UK. "What makes it even more special is this year we celebrate 10 years of trading in the UK, while last year we opened our 200th branch - so these really are exciting times for us."
The news comes as a boost to the company as it's committed to a rapid expansion programme in the UK which will see the number of Edward Jones stockbrokers & financial advisers operating in the country rising from around 300 to over 400 by the end of the year.
"Edward Jones was founded on the principle that our people are our source of success," added Tim Kirley. "That belief is responsible for many of the firm's practices, including sharing profits with members of staff; a culture of caring that helps staff through personal and professional challenges and offering partnerships to those who demonstrate significant contributions to the firm."
"Being an owner, or knowing there is the potential to become one, creates a vision that's motivating and helps create a great team spirit and morale which in turn is good for our clients."
Edward Jones was also recognised as 'Best For Training & Development' in the mid-sized category. The firm was also singled out for praise for its 'strong values,' 'most stimulating work' and 'benefits of training'.
Each Edward Jones office is staffed by a Stockbroker & Financial Adviser and his or her own branch office administrator.
"We train our staff to meet the needs of our clients first and foremost - if that earns us accolades for our training then we are quite humbled by it all," commented Tim Kirley.
To be eligible for a ranking in the Best Companies to Work For Awards, a company must be at least five years old and employ at least 50 people. Ninety per cent of the ranking is based on how randomly selected members of staff answer a series of carefully structured questions asked by Best Companies. Edward Jones also completed a company survey that sought information on firm policies, processes, services and facilities."
