Investments We Don't Sell

As an investment firm, you might think we're ready to sell any available share or bond. That's where the Edward Jones difference comes in. We believe financial security is about more than investment types; it's about well-informed choices and long-term planning. Frankly, some investments out there don't fit our philosophy.

The Share du Jour
There's always going to be a "hot" share mentioned in the financial press, or maybe even on the TV news. But something that's hot doesn't necessarily mean it's good. We believe one of the best approaches to investing is choosing shares that have solid track records. It's what has historically helped our clients build wealth over time and it's a fundamental part of our investment philosophy.

AIM/OFEX Shares
Ever heard the expression, "You get what you pay for"? One of the cornerstones of our philosophy is investing in quality shares, so we really discourage investing in any AIM or OFEX shares.

Options & Commodities
Our view on options and commodities is that they're often viewed as shortcuts to getting rich. At Edward Jones, we don't believe there are shortcuts. Yes, you might get lucky and "win big" sometimes, but we don't think it's worth the risk of losing everything.

Investments That Aren't For You
We believe in spending a lot of time with our clients so we know and understand their needs. If we don't feel that a particular investment is in line with your specific goals, we won't recommend the investment. We realise this way of investing isn't for everyone. But we're not afraid of seeming unfashionable if it means helping you succeed.
